Explore Teesdale Holidays and Tourist Guidebook

This Explore Teesdale holidays and tourist guidebook publication at only £3-99 is a revised edition of our ‘Stories, Sketches and Places to Visit in Teesdale’ guidebook that was first published some three decades ago. The sketches have now been replaced by colour photographs and It has a new title, ‘Explore Teesdale’. It also compliments our new, revised ‘Discover Teesdale’ guidebook. This ‘Explore Teesdale’ guidebook provides a ‘story’ and a photograph for each of the attractions that we have personally selected as being one of the most interesting and most important in Teesdale…. and which await your discovery and exploration.

Explore Teesdale Holiday and Tourist Guidebook

Teesdale with its rich treasure house of beauty, history and legend is one of the few remaining jewels of England that are not over-run and spoilt by the visitor. Perhaps we should count ourselves most fortunate that many of the major routeways by-pass this quiet backwater, as tourists rush north to the Roman Wall or Scotland and west to the Lake District. But their loss is our gain, for here, in this magnificent and peaceful English valley, can be seen the results of the interactions of geology, nature and man which have combined to produce the landscape we love and enjoy today.

Within this publication and throughout our fine selections, we have attempted to create a blend of these effects of nature, geology, history, legend, tradition, man, and not least the River Tees itself, into the magnificent picture that Teesdale portrays today.

Perhaps this book will encourage you to explore Teesdale, perhaps it will provide you with a greater insight and knowledge into the area itself, or perhaps it will serve as a reminder of your past visits. Whatever your reason, we hope that it brings you some of the pleasure and enjoyment that Teesdale has provided us with over the years.
